UFC legend Conor McGregor expects to join Floyd Mayweather, Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi by increasing net worth and becoming a BILLIONAIRE in three years
Conor McGregor has predicted he will be a billionaire by the time he is 35 years old.
The UFC star, 32, has an estimated worth of £100m thanks to an illustrious career in the octagon and a host of endorsements.
The former lightweight and featherweight champion is the highest-earning fighter in UFC history – and raked in £80million from his boxing match with Floyd Mayweather in 2017.
Alongside his glittering sporting career, which looks set to continue next year with fights against Dustin Poirier and Manny Pacquiao in the pipeline, the Irishman makes a killing from numerous investments outside the octagon/ring.
Deals with Burger King, Beats by Dre, Monster Energy and Reebok keep his fortune ticking along, but his Proper 12 Irish Whiskey is the crown jewel, having brought in £750million in its first year.
Opening up to his 8.3 million Twitter followers during a revealing Q&A, one fan asked the Irishman when he expects to become a billionaire, to which he replied: “35 years of age.”
It would make McGregor only the sixth sportsperson in history to join the exclusive billionaire club.
Football superstar Lionel Messi was its most recent entrant, following Cristiano Ronaldo, Tiger Woods, Michael Jordan, and McGregor’s former adversary – Mayweather.
However, McGregor is likely to be beaten there by tennis legend Roger Federer, who is thought to be worth more than $900million.
