Tommy Fury mocked by Jake Paul and Conor McGregor’s coach John Kavanagh as his next fight is against journeyman with 0-14 record
Tommy Fury’s next opponent has been revealed – and the likes of Jake Paul and John Kavanagh are far from impressed.
The brother of heavyweight champ Tyson Fury is looking to add to his 5-0 record when he takes on Andy Bishop on the Daniel Dubois vs Bogdan Dinu undercard on June 5.
It shouldn’t be too hard for the 22-year-old to make it six professional wins as he takes on Bishop, who is 16 years his senior.
Bishop is also something of a journeyman boxer with a record of 0-14. He’s been beaten by knockout twice.
Fury has been criticised for the calibre of opponent he’s fighting, with Conor McGregor’s coach quote tweeting an announcement with the caption: “5-0 v 0-14? Really?”
Paul has been far less diplomatic, posting on his Instagram story: “And of course this gets announced the next day. Embarrassing the Fury name.”
This was in reference to a huge tirade Paul unleashed on Fury and his family after being called out by Tommy, Tyson and even NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal.
Fury has made no secret of his desire to fight the American YouTuber but Paul dismissed suggestions of a bout as he claimed he’s fighting at a much higher level.
Paul also claimed Fury’s girlfriend, Molly-Mae Hague, had once sent him a message on Instagram which implied a romantic interest. However, this alleged message has been proved to be a fake.
