The real reason WWE have ‘suspended’ Braun Strowman on TV
Braun Strowman has seen himself suspended by WWE for his action against company official Adam Pearce on Monday.
Of course, he’s not actually suspended. This is all storyline and there is a reason for it according to Dave Metlzer.
The former Universal champion is WWE’s preferred option to face Drew McIntyre at TLC next month, also according to Meltzer.
Of course, that report is not what transpired on RAW. Strowman would headbutt Pearce in the opening segment of the show and the next day it was announced that he would be suspended indefinitely.
As a result, the other members of Team RAW from Survivor Series, who swept SmackDown at the event, found themselves in matches for the right to face WWE champion Drew McIntyre at TLC.
Next week on RAW, Keith Lee, Riddle and AJ Styles will battle it out for that right, but Meltzer insists WWE’s plan is still Strowman at this point.
The reason he has been suspended and taken off TV is because he suffered a knee injury in the match at Survivor Series.
While he might make TLC, WWE are not sure and have put a back-up plan in place. However, despite the triple-threat match next week on RAW, Strowman is still WWE’s plan at this time to face McIntyre at TLC.
However, Meltzer does go on to speculate that Strowman is going to presented as a heel moving forward and that would line up with him challenging McIntyre. The latest storyline development could also serve to move him into that character.
Meltzer says the suspension is just a storyline to build up heat for Strowman as a heel and he’s getting the match against McIntyre either way. Meltzer said that he should get a confirmation on the story by Friday, “I’ve heard this from one source but I’m still awaiting confirmation from a few more people.”
TLC is just three weeks away, so Strowman’s suspension will have to be resolved quickly if this is the direction they’re heading in. Either way, Meltzer remains convinced he is McIntyre’s next challenger.
