Khamzat Chimaev would make ‘mentally unstable’ Conor McGregor ‘eat through a straw’ or even ‘kill him’.

That’s according to Ali Abdelaziz, who manages the UFC’s latest sensation as well as McGregor’s bitter rival Khabib Nurmagomedov.

Chimaev is perhaps the most destructive debutant ever seen in UFC history having finished three fighters in two separate weight categories in the space of just 66 days.

The Chechan-born Swede added middleweight Gerald Meerschaert to his list with a 17-second knockout at the UFC Apex on Saturday, which left Dana White calling him ‘one of the most special fighters I’ve ever seen’.

A bout against Demian Maia was touted for Fight Island, although there are plenty who are calling for the 26-year-old to be fast-tracked into facing a more prestigious name.

Despite a Twitter spat with Conor McGregor, Abdelaziz has admitted he does not want to see the Irishman face Chimaev.

Abdelaziz told TMZ Sports: “Khamzat would put Conor McGregor in a wheelchair, and he would drink from a straw for the rest of his life.

“I’m not looking for Khamzat to fight a mentally unstable fighter.

“Conor McGregor is mentally unstable. I wish him the best of luck.

“Khamzat would kill him. He would really kill him.”

The head of Dominance MMA, Abdelaziz represents a host of leading fighters across the globe.

Yet it was his very public and spiteful spat with ‘The Notorious’ before UFC 229 which alerted the mainstream media to the Egyptian.

The Irishman is currently retired from fighting, although White insisted there were ‘special plans’ for the 32-year-old in the pipeline for the start of 2021.

Eddie Hearn doesn’t think that he could promote Conor McGregor even if he is retired from UFC
