London news: Investigation after multiple stabbings including one fatal in Croydon area | UK | News

Officers were first called to an incident in Chapman Road, Croydon at around 6.55pm on Friday. A male victim with non-life threatening injuries was found. At 7.15pm, police were alerted by a south London hospital, after four males, all in their 20s, were admitted to casualty with slash and stab injuries.

One of the males is currently believed to be in a serious condition, police said.

Police were called to another incident at Wisbeach Road, Croydon, at 8.08pm, after another stabbing incident involving two victims.

Despite the best efforts of paramedics on the scene one man was pronounced dead.

Next of kin have been informed, police said.

The other has been taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

At 8.51pm police received another call from a south London hospital, after another two males were taken in suffering from knife wounds.

One of the victims is said to be fighting for his life, police said.

Officers then arrested a man on suspicion of stabbing, after being called out to Dingwall Road, Croydon at 9.12pm

“A Section 60 Order granting police additional stop and search powers is in place across Croydon, until 08:00hrs on Saturday, 6 February.

“I urge anyone who has information that could help police to assist us as we work to investigate these incidents to speak to us as soon as you can.”
