London news: Highams Park stabbing closes station and suspends London Overground | UK | News
The incident occured at Highams Park last night amid reports of a 18-year-old man being hospitalised due to the attack.
Emergency services are currently dealing with the incident, although the police have stated the man is not in a life threatening condition.
There is no London Overground service between Hackney Downs to Chingford and Edmonton Greent to Cheshunt.
The delays are expected to last until 3.30pm today.
A Network Rail statement read: “The emergency services are currently dealing with an incident near Highams Park.
“Trains between London Liverpool Street and Chingford/Cheshunt may be cancelled, delayed or revised.”
The details of the victim have not yet been revealed.
A seperate attack also occured in Dagenham, east London on Monday afternoon.
Police were called to reports of a car crash at Gale Street at 6.18pm.
A man in his 20s was taken to hospital following the incident.
A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: “Police were called to Gale Street, Dagenham, at 6.18pm on Monday, August 17, to reports of a road traffic collision and a stabbing.
“Officers attended along with paramedics from London Ambulance Service (LAS).
“It was reported that two cars had collided and a man inside one of the vehicles had then been stabbed.
“The victim and the suspect(s) had left the scene before police arrived.
“A short time later, a man in his 20s, attended an east London hospital with stab injuries.
“We await an update on his condition.
“A crime scene is in place. There have been no arrests. Enquiries continue.”
