Lomachenko vs Lopez: The records

Lomachenko: 14-1 with 10 wins via knockout.

He fought for a title in just his second professional fight. However, he lost to Orlando Salido who drove for Uber in his spare time, but the Loma of 2014 is very different to the champion of today.

Lopez: 15-0 with 12 wins via knockout.

He is just 23 and believes he is good enough to beat one of the greatest in the sport. As young as he is, he is certainly more than just an exciting prospect given all he has achieved so far. “He has something that [Manny] Pacquiao had when he was really young,” renowned trainer, Teddy Atlas, said.

“That explosive ability to close the gap really fast. He’s right on top of you really quick. He’s out of range, and then he closes that gap before you can react to it with the power with the goods.”

Lomachenko vs Lopez: Date and UK start time

The Las Vegas fight will take place on Saturday, October 17 US time. This means that it will be in the early hours of Sunday, October 18 UK time.

It is taking place at the iconic MGM Grand. No confirmed ring walk/start time has been announced for the main event yet.

However, the standard main event start time in Vegas is somewhere between 4am and 6am UK time.

Alex Saucedo and Arnold Barboza will clash on the undercard before the main event.

Lomachenko vs Lopez: TV channel and UK live stream

Surprisingly, the bout is not being broadcast on a conventional UK TV channel.

Promoter Bob Arum told iFL TV: “I don’t think any of the television networks in the UK have bothered to buy that fight.

“Where’s Sky and where’s BT and where’s ITV? If it’s such a great fight, how come nobody’s bought it?

“Meanwhile every bit of Eddie’s junk goes on Sky and they make the poor fans in the UK shell out money to watch all of this stuff…

“A television network that is doing boxing should buy a Lomachenko vs Lopez fight, which is a classic lightweight championship for all four belts.”

Lomachenko vs Lopez: What has been said?

Lomachenko said: “Teofimo Lopez can talk all he wants. He’s very good at talking.

“He has done nothing but say my name for the past two years.

“I am a fighter, and my goal is to win another world title. Good for Teofimo.

“When we fight in Las Vegas, he will eat my punches and his words. I will be the better man, and four world titles will come home with me to Ukraine.”

Lopez said: “I will beat up Lomachenko and take his belts. Simple as that.

“I’m coming to Las Vegas to make history. I don’t like the guy, and I’m going to have fun as Lomachenko’s face is beaten and marked up by my hands.

“The Takeover is here, and the reign of Lomachenko, the little diva, is coming to an end.”
