Jake Paul hits back at Frank Warren over Tommy Fury 50/50 split comments, indicates that fight won’t happen any time soon
Jake Paul has indicated that a fight with Tommy Fury will not be happening in the near future.
The 3-0 (3 KOs) YouTuber has been exchanging trash talk with the the 5-0 (4 KOs) brother of Tyson Fury in recent months.
It was recently revealed that their camps had started preliminary discussions over a potential showdown, however comments from Fury’s promoter Frank Warren have not gone down well with Jake.
Warren told iFL TV: “Actions speak louder than words. I know Jake has this following on YouTube and he says all the right things, but do it.
“We want to make the fight, it’s really easy; he takes 50%, Tommy takes 50%. Make the fight, let’s get it done.
“Not a problem with us at all, get it on. Tommy wants it, so stop talking about it and do it.
“That’s the problem with these guys, they all seem to want to talk a lot. They say what they want to do and look for easy touches.
“Triller can do the worldwide TV rights and BT does the British ones, let’s get it on. If you’re not going to do it, stop telling people that you want it.”
Jake has now responded in an interview with ESPN MMA: “No-one’s ever watched one of his fights, the only reason people know of him is because of me.
“No-one’s ever tuned into a Tommy Fury PPV, so who knows if he can do numbers at the box office?
“His manager, some old guy, goes on interview and was like, ‘Send the contract, 50/50.’ Get out of here with that.
“This guy only has a name and has articles written about him because of me.
“Now you’re trying to ask for 50/50? Take it somewhere else.
“Maybe once he fights someone with a winning record and has a highlight performance, then it makes sense for us to fight, but until then, move on.”
