Israel Adesanya addresses saggy right pec that UFC fans noticed during his victory over Paolo Costa
Israel Adesanya has had doubters his entire UFC career just because of how unique he is and how different he is to the conventional fighter.
But with every passing fight he’s continued to prove why he is one of the very best in the company.
At UFC 253 last week, The Last Stylebender destroyed the previously unbeaten Paolo Costa with a second round stoppage and then he proceeded to ‘hump’ his foe.
Costa slammed Adesanya for his disrespectful actions following the bout, but the middleweight champion seems to think Costa had it coming.
“When you have someone like that, who has disrespected you so much and talked so much s***, when you know what’s going to happen. Bro, eat that. Eat that. You need to eat that,” Adesanya told ESPN.
“He needs to be fed, he just needs to eat that. So shut the f*** up and take that L.”
During the contest, many fans noticed that Adesanya’s right pec was sagging.
The 31 year old still isn’t sure what the problem is, but he has sought medical advice.
“I didn’t want to speak about it until I knew what it was,” Adesanya told ESPN. “It’s been on me for like the last eight weeks and it was growing and I was like, ‘this is quite sore.’
“Even my girl told me to go to the doctor but I was like ‘I have to get this fight over with first.’ I don’t know what it is. I just got a blood test done and two MRI scans for my pituitary gland. So we’ll get the tests back and see what it is.”
Adesanya 20-0, will face either Jared Cannoneir or Robert Whittaker in early 2021, all being well. Hopefully the pec deform/injury is nothing serious.
Costa will now go away and look to rebuild himself in the middleweight division, a division he had previously run through fairly comfortably.
