Gareth Bale’s no.11 shirt already given away to Marco Asensio as Real Madrid waste no time in moving on from Tottenham-bound winger
Gareth Bales’s no.11 shirt at Real Madrid has already been given away – despite the Welshman’s loan move to Tottenham still yet to be made official.
talkSPORT understands Bale will be at Tottenham Hotspur’s training ground this afternoon as he finalises a season-long loan deal from Real.
Tottenham fans far and wide will rejoice at seeing Bale, one of the club’s greatest ever players, return after seven years away.
And the LaLiga giants are wasting no time in moving on from the 31-year-old, despite him playing an instrumental role in the club winning ten trophies in his seven year stint in the Spanish capital.
And Arsenal icon Ray Parlour believes bringing Bale back to north London following his 2013 exit could prove to be ‘the better signing’ of the two.
“I think Bale can bring more to the team for Tottenham,” Parlour said on Friday’s talkSPORT Breakfast.
“I think Liverpool are an excellent team anyway and that strengthens the midfield; they’ve got Henderson, Wijnaldum, Oxlade-Chamberlain.
“They’ve got so many good players in there, but Thiago is an excellent signing.
“But I think if you can get the best out of Bale and get him fit, I think Bale will be a better signing.”
