England batsman Dawid Malan sets new record high rating in International Cricket Council’s T20 ratings system
It was a fantastic T20 series for England as they inflicted a 3-0 series whitewash of South Africa on their home patch.
One player who deserves an extra pat on the back is Dawid Malan, who played starring roles in the second and third matches.
Malan, who won the man-of-the-series prize, hit a stunning 99 not out as England cruised to a nine-wicket victory at Newlands on Tuesday and he broke a stunning record in the process.
The 33-year-old set a new record for the highest points total in the ICC’s T20 batting rankings.
He was already top of the ratings but his 173 runs in the series win over the Proteas has propelled him to 915 points, extending his lead over second-placed Pakistan star Babar Azam.
