Chris Wood notches 50th Burnley goal as Fulham’s Premier League relegation is confirmed after Craven Cottage defeat
The Premier League’s relegation picture is complete after Fulham’s fate was sealed following a 2-0 defeat to Burnley on Monday night.
First-half goals from Ashley Westwood and Chris Wood secured a comfortable victory for Sean Dyche’s men, who secured their top-flight status for another year.
Burnley went close twice in quick succession in the opening stages, only to be denied by Fulham goalkeeper Alphonse Areola, before they did take the lead, dealing a further blow to the hosts’ already slim survival chances.
Westwood was picked out at the back post by Matej Vydra and made no mistake slotting the ball into the back of the net.
Fulham’s task became even harder just before the half-time whistle as they fell two goals behind.
