Braun Strowman says the WWE locker room does NOT like Roman Reigns’ new attitude
Roman Reigns has really shook up business since returning to WWE at SummerSlam.
The Big Dog graduated to the Tribal Chief and his new heel attitude has generated a buzz that SmackDown and WWE have been seeking for since their move to FOX almost exactly a year ago.
Reigns won the Universal title just seven days after his return at Payback and now he faces one of the men he defeated, Braun Strowman, on SmackDown tonight before the Monster Among Men departs for RAW following the draft.
Strowman has a vital part in Roman’s story. Reigns originally took time off from WWE to be with his young family and put his safety first during the coronavirus pandemic.
Reigns has a weakened immune system due to his battles with leukemia and thus, he was more susceptible to the virus.
He pulled out of his WrestleMania 36 match against Goldberg for the Universal title on the week of the event. Strowman took his place and would win his first world title.
Now, the two men locks horns again, but Strowman thinks a lot has changed. Speaking to Sportskeeda, Strowman admitted he isn’t a fan of Roman’s new attitude and he doesn’t think many are inside the locker room.
“Look, I’ll be honest with you, I’m a little bit shocked by it and pretty appalled,” he said.
“Umm, you know, I’ve always had a lot of respect for Roman. Even when we were trying to kill each other, you know, he helped me out a lot early in my career, and he went away, and stuff in the beginning of this pandemic and I applauded him for being selfish and taking care of himself and his family, first and foremost.
“Whatever he has been through, or gone through, that was, like I said, we had a long conversation. At the end of the day, I wasn’t supposed to be in the position that I was in, going into WrestleMania.
“Like time and time before and time and time again and after, when WWE calls my number, I take the ball, and I put my head, and I run as hard as I can. I have, and I will continue to do that for this company.
“Saying that and that being said, I don’t know where this attitude and smug chip on his shoulder that he’s got since he’s come back.
“I don’t know if it’s because he’s got this parasite Paul Heyman in his ear, you know filling his head up full with all this c***, and stuff like this, but you know, at the end of the day, I feel like he is carrying the Universal entitlement, just his attitude, his whole new attitude.
“I’m not really a fan of it, and I don’t think too many of the guys are in the locker room.”
It’s worth noting Strowman has said several times int he past how much Reigns has helped him and the current Universal champion is a true locker room leader in WWE – that’s well known.
This is more than likely just something he would say in character.
